Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin trademark, here’s what we know so far

Two-wheeler maker Royal Enfield is gearing up to push its product range into India. The report suggested that the brand has 6 bikes on board to deliver, of which two will be offered in the 650cc segment.

The company has already trademarked the former under the Classic 650 Twin label. The second bike under the same platform is likely to be called the Interceptor Bear 650. However, RE is yet to share details about these.

Spy pictures

Production-ready models have been spied several times during the testing phase in the country, revealing some of the key features and design elements. Going by the leaks, we believe the Classic 650 Twin will feature similar styling cues to its larger-framed 350 counterparts.

The spy photos also suggested that the bike will be treated to the RE signature-style round-shaped headlight setup topped with a chrome cover. It will also have orange colored side indicators at both ends, showing off a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with twin exhausts and a decent-sized skid plate at the front.

Rear and suspension setup

Moving to the rear, it looks like the vehicle will get the same round-shaped LED taillight as the Classic 350. When it comes to suspension, the conventional RSU telescopic front forks are clearly visible, while the rear is completed of a dual shock setup. . There are only a few bikes in the RE fleet in the 650cc range that are equipped with USD telescopic forks and mono-shock rear suspension.

Engine and Power

Essentially, both the upcoming models are expected to share the same 648cc twin-cylinder engine. It will produce a maximum power of 47 HP and 52 Nm. The unit will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
