Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship has a unique fairytale feature

With the new Disney Adventure ship set to depart from Singapore in 2025, Disney Cruise Line is charting new waters in more ways than one. Disney Adventure will be Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship to date and the first to homeport in Asia.

When the 208,000 gross ton cruise ship begins sailing from Singapore for at least five years starting in 2025 as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Adventure will offer three- and four-night cruises that will include days at sea.

Offering sailings with only sea days makes Disney Adventure both a journey and a destination, inspiring Disney Cruise Line to imagine new ways to deliver a magical family vacation entirely through onboard experiences.

The size of the ship gave Disney Imagineers the opportunity to dream bigger to create new experiences and grandiose features never before seen on a Disney cruise ship.

Seven uniquely themed areas aboard Disney Adventure will offer immersive experiences that bring fan-favorite worlds of Disney, Pixar and Marvel to life. Themed areas include Disney Imagination Garden, Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Marvel Landing and Toy Story Place.

Disney Adventure will feature Disney Cruise Line’s first castle at sea

The Disney Imagination Garden will be the sea, the heart of the ship – a storybook-like pop-up garden and gathering space located beneath Disney Cruise Line’s first castle at sea. The storybook castle artwork will be three decks high and sit above a decorative waterfall and courtyard.

The Disney Imagination Garden Castle is inspired by real and imaginary castles found in Disney stories and theme parks. Passengers can look for references to the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Disneyland Paris’ Sleeping Beauty castle, and Rapunzel’s castle.

While strolling the garden’s boardwalk, featuring paper cut-out style landscapes, passengers will also spot characters, iconography and Easter eggs from Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories. Those booked in Garden View Staterooms, a new stateroom category for Disney Cruise Line, will also be able to enjoy the Disney Imagination Garden from a veranda.

At the other end of the outdoor Disney Imagination Garden, across from the castle, a three-story LED screened garden theater stage will feature live entertainment. Shows planned for the Garden Stage include Avengers Assemble! stage show where Deadpool will make his Disney Cruise Line debut.

An open lawn area in front of the stage will lead to a large staircase that can be used for amphitheater-style seating for performances.

The Disney adventure draws on both film and regional influences

Disney Imagination Garden will feature two quick service dining options, Mowgli’s Eatery and Gramma Tala’s Kitchen. Inspired by ‘The Jungle Book’, Mowgli’s Eatery will serve Indian cuisine and Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will feature an island style inspired by ‘Moana’ and highlight the flavors of the Pacific and Asia.

Disney Cruise Line also took inspiration from “Moana” and the Pacific Islands for Disney Adventure’s poolside retreat, Wayfinder Bay.

Other themed areas aboard Disney Adventure will take passengers to the worlds of The Little Mermaid, “Lilo and Stitch,” “Finding Nemo,” “Luca,” “Big Hero 6” and “Toy Story.”

The town square will transport guests to a fairytale forest with shops, restaurants, cafes and lounges inspired by many of the magical kingdoms found in Disney stories. Passengers will also find thrilling rides and superhero adventures at the Marvel Landing themed area.

More details to come about the magical onboard experiences that await cruisers on Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship to date. The cruise line expects Disney Adventure to have a capacity of about 6,700 passengers, with about 2,500 crew members.

Currently under construction at the MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany under the management of Meyer Werft, Disney Adventure will be the seventh ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It will be followed by Disney’s Destiny ship, which will launch on November 20, 2025, sailing from Fort Lauderdale.

Four additional ships planned for delivery between 2027 and 2031 will bring Disney Cruise Line’s total fleet size to 13.
