Skiados was hired as PIA’s executive director

The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has named Michael Skiados as CEO following an extensive search process. He will join the organization on October 15.

“Mike’s ability to transform the member experience, combined with his operational expertise, will create significant opportunities for PIA affiliates and agency members,” said Richard Savino, PIA National President. “His proven track record of innovation and growth will propel us to new levels of excellence.”

PIA said Skiados has more than 20 years of experience leading membership, education, marketing and operations for a variety of large associations. Most recently, he served as managing director of membership strategy and engagement with the American Institute of Architects. Prior to that, Skiados contributed to significant growth in membership and engagement, as well as new ways to unite association chapters at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the American Society for Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology, and ASAE, the Center for Association Leadership.

Skiados will focus on identifying ways to better serve PIA members and affiliates with new products and services, as well as education, utilizing PIA’s Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designation. He will also work closely with the PIA Partnership, the organization’s transport council and its Technology Council.

PIA, in partnership with its national network of affiliates, provides service, education, advocacy and support to independent insurance agents.
