Entrepreneurs are set to take center stage at the Georgian College Awards

The Henry Bernick Center for Entrepreneurship at Georgian College is pleased to announce the upcoming celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship at the annual Henry Bernick Awards.

The event, scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 30, will honor outstanding achievements in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, showcasing the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations dedicated to driving positive change and fostering innovation.

“We are thrilled to host the Henry Bernick Awards annually, celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to drive positive change and innovation in our communities,” said Dr. Mira Ray, executive director of research, innovation and entrepreneurship at Georgian College. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate the incredible achievements of our entrepreneurs and innovators, and we look forward to honoring their contributions.”

The Henry Bernick Awards serve as a testament to the legacy of Henry Bernick, a visionary entrepreneur whose commitment to supporting budding entrepreneurs continues to inspire countless individuals.

Each year, the awards recognize the outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations in various categories, highlighting their dedication to making a significant impact in our region and beyond.

This year’s event promises to be an inspiring celebration of entrepreneurship, with keynote speaker Justice Faith Betty, networking opportunities and awards for recognition in the following categories: Student Entrepreneur, Community Entrepreneur and Entrepreneur Champion.

Betty is the co-founder of Révolutionnaire, a youth-led movement that celebrates diversity and empowers young changemakers to make a difference in their local communities and beyond. She has launched partnerships with brands such as Roots, L’Oréal and Rogers, and now collaborates with the United Nations on initiatives focused on gender equality and racial justice.
