Leicester City star latest target of PL clubs amid potential competition for Fox

Another Leicester City star is now the latest in a line of coveted Foxes. The winger is believed to be being targeted by several notable Premier League clubs. While this is happening, reports are emerging of the potential for an unexpected but friendly competition at Filbert Way next season. These types of usually undesirable situations can surprisingly lead to even better performances, as we have seen at English title contenders Arsenal during the current campaign. Leicester Foxes have more speculation, news and opinion for the Blue Army.

While City fans sit back and enjoy the summer knowing they are back on the biggest domestic stage in world football, there is currently a lot of preparation and hopefully smart thinking going on at the King Power Stadium. LCFC will already be ultra busy regardless of the new campaign being months away. Just like the modern game.

The club are understood to be rallying in a bid to keep talisman Jamie Vardy for another year. Meanwhile, a separate matter of priority at Filbert Way ensures so far successful manager Enzo Maresca for the foreseeable future.

Vardy could most likely have gone to a number of clubs around the world if he finally chose to leave the place where he became famous and prosperous. Some offers for the former England international are likely to be attractive, lucrative and robust. While other invitations were more unwanted, I imagine.

If rumors are to be believed, Maresca is also a wanted man. His former team Sevilla have been mentioned as wanting the Italian as their head coach. However, reliable sources such as The Telegraph’s John Percy have suggested that the striker and manager respectively will remain at Leicester for the upcoming Premier League term. Fortunately for the Blue Army!

To the surprise of some journalists, the East Midlands outfit is currently linked with Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas. Despite Hermansen’s exposed quality, I was less than shocked to hear talk of potential competition for the already quite accomplished Dane.

Keeping top pros on their toes can be a positive trick; see Arsenal’s stoppers for example. However, I would have to agree with Leicester Mercury reporter Jordan Blackwell that Mandas could only be bought if Hermansen is sold. That eventuality is unlikely even with profit and sustainability concerns due to the 23-year-old’s greatness and promise at LCFC.

Although if winger Kasey McAteer isn’t sure to start or get extended minutes, I can see him being disappointed at City. Currently there are hearsay about McAteer:

“Newcastle, Everton and Crystal Palace are monitoring Kasey McAteer’s situation at Leicester City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

McAteer, 22, is set to enter the final year of his contract at the King Power with no new deal on the table at the moment.

All three Premier League outfits are racing to sign the winger and strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2024-25 season.”
