Mexico stocks are up at the close; S&P/BMV IPC rose 2.35% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

Late in Mexico, it added 2.35% to hit a new one-month high.

The best performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: ), which rose 7.25% or 20.08 points to trade at 296.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa, SAB De CV (BMV: ) added 7.15% or 1.02 points to end at 15.28 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa SAB De CV (BMV: ) rose 6.01% or 2.67 points to trade at 47.09 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: ), which declined 1.54% or 0.19 points to trade at 12.13 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV: ) declined 1.12% or 6.39 points to end at 565.26 and Grupo Elektra SAB De CV (BMV:) was up 0.00% or 0.00 points to 944.95.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the Mexico Stock Exchange 133 to 87, with 12 ending unchanged.

Shares in Alfa, SAB De CV (BMV:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.15% or 1.02 to 15.28. Shares of Grupo Elektra, SAB De CV (BMV:) were flat to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 944.95.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 1.12%, or 29.60, to $2,682.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Crude oil for November delivery rose 1.66% or 1.17 to $71.54 a barrel, while the December Brent crude contract was flat 0.00% or 0.00, reaching $74.46 per barrel.

USD/MXN rose 0.16% to 19.34, while EUR/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 21.61.

US dollar index futures fell 0.51% to 100.04.
