TOKYO (Reuters) – The prices Japanese companies charge each other for services rose 2.7 percent in August from a year earlier, flat from the previous month, central bank data showed on Wednesday.

Services sector inflation is being watched closely by the Bank of Japan (BOJ) for signs of whether the prospect of rising wages is prompting firms to raise prices and lead to broader inflation, a prerequisite for raising interest rates.
