Investigators arrest a suspect on the Washington Insurance Commissioner’s Most Wanted List

An Everett woman on Washington Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s Most Wanted Insurance Fraud List who failed to appear in court has been arrested.

Shawndlyn Williams, who also goes by the name Shawndlyn Dyson, was charged by the King County District Attorney with one count of filing a fraudulent insurance claim.

Williams was charged after an investigation by Kreidler’s Criminal Investigations Unit into a June 2019 incident in which a King County Metro bus was struck by a smaller shuttle. Williams claimed he suffered injuries from the collision. She hired an attorney and filed a $19,684.20 claim with the King County Office of Risk Management to cover medical bills, lost wages and general damages.

However, investigators say video from the Metro bus showed Williams was not on the bus at the time of the collision. Williams’ claim was denied, and Philadelphia Insurance, which insured King County Metro, reported the claim to the CIU.

A bench warrant was issued after Williams failed to appear for arraignment. CIU detectives arrested Williams at her workplace. She was taken into custody and booked into the King County Jail.
