OpenAI departures from company unrelated to restructuring, CEO says By Reuters

TORIN, Italy (Reuters) – ChatGPT maker OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on Thursday that the recent departure of top executives from the company had nothing to do with the planned restructuring.

Mira Murati, OpenAI’s longtime chief technology officer, abruptly announced her departure from the company on Wednesday. Greg Brockman, president of OpenAI, was also on leave.

Reuters reported on Wednesday that OpenAI is working on a plan to restructure its core business into a for-profit corporation that will no longer be controlled by its nonprofit board, in a move aimed at making the company more attractive to investors .
