Reaction: McKellar on Chiefs win

Leicester Tigers head coach Dan McKellar has reacted to the Tigers’ 40-22 win over Exeter Chiefs.

The Tigers ended their 2023/24 league campaign with a gutsy win, McKellar’s side showing positive signs with ball in hand heading into pre-season.

“It’s great to finish like this for our supporters,” McKellar said.

“I think we saw elements of the team we want to be there. Our turnover attack there, our intent to move the ball was excellent and we backed that up with a lot of fight.

“Obviously they had everything to play for, so coming out the way we did said a lot about the type of character we have here.

“We’re clear where we need to improve, but a result like this will give us momentum as a group and we can enjoy some time together now and for some time, knowing we’ll jump into Oval Park on July 1. ready to get better.”
