Australian shares rise at close of trade; The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.10% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Australia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sydney, it gained 0.10% to hit a new all-time high.

The best performers of the session were Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: ), which rose 13.84% or 5.97 points to trade at 49.10 at the close. Meanwhile, A2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX: ) added 8.89% or 0.51 points to end at 6.25 and Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (ASX: ) was up 8.59% or 0.95 points to trade at 12.01 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Skycity Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX: ), which fell 6.88% or 0.10 points to 1.29 at the close. Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX: ) declined 6.12% or 0.05 points to 0.69 and Fletcher Building Ltd (ASX: ) declined 6.02% or 0.16 points to end at 2.50.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 614 to 503, with 439 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.18%, or 4.80, to $2,690.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for November delivery rose 0.21%, or 0.14, to $67.81 a barrel, while the December Brent crude contract rose 0.15% or 0.11 to $71.20 per barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 0.69, while AUD/JPY fell 0.94% to 98.94.

US dollar index futures rose 0.01% to 100.26.
