It’s been more than 20 years since the first ‘Harry Potter’ movie was released and captured the hearts of audiences across the globe.

The film, based on JK Rowling’s best-selling book series, told the story of an 11-year-old boy who discovers that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers.

The franchise’s large ensemble cast featured many iconic actors, including some who sadly passed away. These include Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane and, most recently, Maggie Smith, who played Professor McGonagall.
