Costco claims success of card scanner launch; speed up the payment process

Costco is already reaping the benefits after recently introducing membership card scanners in front of warehouses in its US stores, and the move is being well received by customers, the wholesale club said on Friday.

During the retailer’s fourth-quarter earnings call, Costco CEO Ron Vachris noted that the company has been using card readers in front of its stores in Europe for more than two years and has been piloting the system in the U.S. for about six Monday.
