Peterborough and Wigan battle for Ipswich target Chris Conn-Clarke

Peterborough United and Wigan Athletic battle for Altrincham striker Chris Conn-Clarke according to journalist Alan Nixonwith the player also being on Ipswich Town’s radar.

Conn-Clarke enjoyed a hugely successful season in the National League with Altrincham, but the Greater Manchester side’s failure to gain promotion means he is likely to leave.

Ipswich, now in the Premier League, have been credited with an interest in the striker, while Peterborough have already seen a bid turned down.

Posh still want Conn-Clarke and act early before the season ends, but face competition from Wigan.

Wigan are looking to spend money to strengthen this summer as they prepare for promotion from League One next season.

Peterborough are renowned for their eye for non-league talent and believe Conn-Clarke could be their next big thing.

A fee of £250,000 has been mooted as possible for the Altrincham man.

It remains to be seen whether Premier League new boys Ipswich will come in with a bid, while Portsmouth have also been linked with Conn-Clarke.
