Shares in Brazil are up at the close; Bovespa rose 0.52% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, it gained 0.52%.

The best performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF: ), which rose 4.56% or 0.33 points to trade at 7.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Ambev SA (BVMF: ) added 3.98% or 0.52 points to end at 13.60 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF: ) was up 3.39% or 0.16 points to trade at 4.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF: ), which decreased 4.69% or 0.35 points to trade at 7.12 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) declined 4.65% or 0.29 points to end at 5.95 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: ) declined 2.27% or 0.15 points to 6.46.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 567 to 375, with 48 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.81%, or 21.60, to $2,681.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for November delivery rose 3.59%, or 2.45, to $70.62 a barrel, while the December C coffee contract fell 2.39% or 6.47, up to $263.78.

USD/BRL rose 0.36% to 5.47, while EUR/BRL fell 0.30% to 6.05.

US dollar index futures rose 0.43% to 100.95.
