Canadian stocks up at close; The S&P/TSX composite rose 0.14% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

Meanwhile, Baytex Energy Corp (TSX: ) added 4.46% or 0.18 points to end at 4.22 and Imperial Oil Ltd (TSX: ) was up 4.38% or 4.17 points to trade at 99.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BlackBerry Ltd (TSX: ), which fell 7.58% or 0.27 points to trade at 3.29 at the close. Tilray Inc (TSX: ) declined 3.78% or 0.09 points to end at 2.29 and Aritzia Inc (TSX: ) declined 3.54% or 1.80 points to 49.03.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 497 to 413, with 112 ending unchanged.
