The newlyweds have their first dance outside of Iceland at Williamson Square

A couple enjoyed the ‘perfect’ moment after tying the knot in Liverpool.

Ray Pendleton, from Formby, and his new wife Vicky, originally from Mold, North Wales, has some musicians in the town to thank for giving them a unique first dance they never thought they’d have. A friend took out his phone to capture the beautiful moment a crowd gathered to watch Ray and Vicky dance to The Stereophonics hit ‘Dakota’ outside the Iceland store near Williamson Square.

Ray explained: “We just saw us coming and (the road grocers) couldn’t have been happier to create that special memory for us. The song was just perfect because we feel like we’ve found the one!”

The couple, who have five children between them, met three years ago after striking up a conversation on Match.com. A week later they met face to face at the Cozy Club on Paradise Street and as they say, the rest is history.

They initially wanted to keep their wedding a fairly low-key affair. But, that plan soon went out the window once family and friends got involved.

Vicky said: “We were happy to have it just us, put on jeans and do it with the kids, but it soon grew when we told family and then we couldn’t leave out a few friends. there really, but it was a beautiful day.”
