Maersk continues calls at Beirut port despite business disruption By Reuters

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Container shipping company Maersk said on Wednesday it continued to serve customers in Lebanon with twice weekly calls to Beirut, despite the deteriorating security situation in the country.

“While Maersk’s business in the country is affected, we currently remain able to serve our customers,” a Maersk spokesman said in an email.

The company said all staff in both Lebanon and Israel are safe and accounted for.

The Maersk Lebanon office is located in Beirut and has 21 employees.
