Boy charged with sexual assault after people threatened with knife

A 16-year-old was accused of sexual assault. The teenager was arrested after two incidents where they reportedly saw people being threatened with a knife.

Warwickshire Police say the arrest followed reports of an assault in Stratford town center on Tuesday, May 14, and a sexual assault at Shottery Fields Park later the same day. The boy, from Stratford, was arrested on Thursday evening, May 16, on suspicion of assault, sexual assault and possession of Class B drugs.

As of 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, he remained in custody and police have not issued any updates since. Stratford Inspector Ben Hembry said: “We understand the community has been left concerned by the two incidents and we hope the increased patrols and this latest update provide some reassurance.”
