Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players after the opening forty-five minutes of action in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

Guglielmo Vicario: Showed good reactions to deny Brereton Diaz from close range after ten minutes. 6.

Pedro Porro: He played a perfect cross into Romero’s path that should have been a through ball. A shot seemed to dart into the bottom corner, only for Foderingham to have a big hand 6.

Christian Romero: He will be disappointed not to be on the scoresheet after failing to finish off Porro’s cross. 6.

Radu Dragusin: A mistimed header in the first five minutes gave Brereton Diaz a shot on goal, which he luckily tipped over the bar. He settled into the game and had a nice maurauding run before the break. 6.

Micky van de Ven: He did well to win the ball back in the build-up to Kulusevski’s opener and looked very comfortable on the left. 7.

Pope Matar Sarr: A comfortable 45 minutes for the young midfielder with the Blades untroubled. 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur: He played as a holding midfielder and had a lot of space on the ball. 6.

James Maddison: His side-footed effort from outside the box came back off the post. He should have scored when Son got through and maybe he should have looked to help the keeper. 6.

Dejan Kulusevski: Finished well behind the keeper to open the scoring. He could have had a second in the 20th minute, but his shot was too close to the keeper. 7.

Son Heung-min: Denied by a smart save from Foderingham. He played a smart pass for Maddison’s second chance. 6.

Brennan Johnson: Did well in possession and had plenty of space down the right. 6.
