Man City took a brutal dig at Liverpool after winning the Premier League title

Manchester City’s social media account took a dig at Liverpool after their Premier League title triumph.

City secured the league title with a 3-1 win over West Ham on the final day of the season. Phil Foden scored a brace before Rodri secured the three points at the Etihad Stadium after Mohammed Kudus pulled a goal back for the Hammers.

Pep Guardiola’s side beat Arsenal to clinch the league title by two points as the Gunners beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Despite Arsenal winning the game, City held a two-point lead, meaning all Guardiola and Co needed to do to clinch the title would be equaling the result at the Emirates Stadium.

City also made history by becoming the first team to win four consecutive titles in the Premier League era. It’s that stat that was the inspiration for City’s post-match Twitter post, formerly known as X.

The post on the club’s official account said “This means four”, accompanied by four trophy emojis. Although this post was about City’s title triumphs, it can also be read as a dig at Liverpool.

Liverpool previously used the motto “This Means More” as well as their famous anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. The Anfield club finished third in the Premier League, nine points behind City, after being in the title race for most of the campaign.
