England and Manchester City star Jack Grealish fined £666 for speeding in Range Rover Sport

Jack Grealish was fined £666 for speeding in Worcestershire last July.

The England and Manchester City soccer star was not in court on Wednesday but pleaded guilty through his lawyer.

The 28-year-old, from Barnt Green, Worcestershire, was also ordered to pay £110 in court costs and a £266 victim surcharge, leaving him with a total bill of £1,042.

The court was told Grealish was caught speeding by a mobile speed camera on Station Road, Wythall, while driving a Range Rover Sport on the morning of July 17, 2023.

A charge of failing to release information relating to the identification of the driver to police was withdrawn.

Grealish’s lawyer, John Dye, said of his client: “Mr Grealish does not want to be disrespected by not attending.

“I am instructed to plead guilty on his behalf to speeding.”

After confirming the maximum penalty for the offense was £1,000, reduced to £666 after a guilty plea, Mr Dye told the court: “He can afford to pay that amount.

“I am asked to apologize on his behalf. It was a mistake.”

Former Aston Villa star Grealish joined City on a six-year deal in August 2021 for a British club record transfer fee of around £100m.

Grealish, who made his England debut in September 2020, is said to earn around £300,000 a week and has scored three goals in 20 Premier League appearances so far this season.
