Sheffield-Calahaln VFD Chief Matthew Mills welcomes anyone interested in becoming a firefighter to come to the department or call 336-492-5791.

The next Hotdog Saturday is scheduled for May 25th at New Union.

New Union welcomes everyone to Sunday School at 9am and Worship Service at 10am each week. Kids Power Hour is Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30.

Ijames Baptist worship service is every week at 10:30 am. Ijames TeamKid for ages 3 through 5th grade and Youth Group, 6th-12th grade meets on Sundays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Adult Bible study is Sunday evenings at 5. Children’s choir for ages 2-12 meets Sundays from 4:30-5.

The women of Ijames held a brunch on Saturday, April 27th. A large variety of food was enjoyed. The women brought a baby gift to be donated to the Davie Pregnancy Care Center.

Eleven men from Ijames left last week for a weekend at Red Springs Mission Camp. They used their skills to repair and rebuild what was needed.

The Community Covenant worship service is held every Sunday at 10:45 a.m., and the children’s church class is also held at 10:45 a.m., Sunday evangelism service at 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday prayer and Bible study at 19:00. The church is at 1446 Sheffield Road.

A time of prayer is held at Liberty Wesleyan every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Choir practice is every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Center Methodist holds a Bible study every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m The Book of Philippians Bible Study will be led by Pastor Jesse Teal. The church is at 1857 US 64 W. Email Teal at [email protected].

A special hotdog and surprise party was held Thursday in Farmington to celebrate Gerald “Bo” Messick’s birthday. There would be no BoTyme Jam if it weren’t for Bo Messick, who also puts videos on Facebook. Bo’s birthday was May 5th. We all wish him a happy birthday and many more.

Jam sessions are held every week on Mondays at Eddie’s Place in Cool Springs from 6-9:30. Farmington admission is $3, musicians get in free.

Every Friday night, 6-8 local musicians are featured at the MawMaw Restaurant on US 601 S. NuHiWay performed to a large crowd last Friday. Gaining Ground will perform on Friday.
