Woman’s Club is holding a Garden Tea Party fundraiser

Spring was in full bloom at the Executive Mansion for The Woman’s Club of Raleigh’s inaugural Garden Tea Party.

All proceeds from the event go towards the club’s grant and scholarship programs. A total of 125 members and friends mingled on the grounds and first floor of the elegant and historic building as they enjoyed the music of Music Fellows Anna McLeod and Jonathan Ross.

The centerpiece of the event was an inspiring story told by Sharyn Alvarez, winner of the Nell Barker Scholarship for Mature Woman from the Woman’s Club of Raleigh on May 12, 1993, while she was a young single mother of two young children, according to a press release. release from the club.

He later earned his degree and had a successful 30-year career in the US government. At the event, Alvarez presented a personal donation to The Woman’s Club of Raleigh President Penny Lauricella to help continue the valuable work of changing lives for those in need.

The Women’s Club of Raleigh supports many grassroots community programs and non-profit organizations in the Wake County community.

“Our very special thanks to David Robinson and his staff for their superb presentation and attention to our guests,” the club said in the press release.
