A new ‘quick serve’ restaurant is set to open in the choir arena this week as owners say ‘we’re delighted’

A new restaurant is set to open in the choir arena this week, the second Birmingham location for the chain. Zambrero, which already has a branch on Colmore Row, will open its doors on the middle level of the bullring on Tuesday 21 May.

The Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant will serve burritos, bowls, tacos and nachos at its new location. The Australian brand has expanded rapidly in the UK over the past year, opening its Colmore Row location in November 2023.

The 580 square meter restaurant will offer “relaxed dining” and a “mex fine” menu featuring superfood ingredients and “fusion flavours”. It also promises to donate a meal to someone in need through Rise Against Hunger every time a burrito or bowl is purchased as part of the Plant 4 Plate initiative.

Later this year, street food brand Pop Street will join Zambrero in the food offering at the Bullring, while Chick N Sours will serve food at new football venue Toca Social when it opens on June 3 .

Toby Tait, director of asset management at Bullring owner Hammerson, said: “The opening of Zambrero reaffirms our strategic focus to target new and exciting brands, concepts and entertainment.

“We are excited to introduce a brand that has a strong ethos of social value and is highly regarded among our customers and communities.”
