The best ‘hidden’ beaches in the UK have been ranked, with Yorkshire dominating the list

A number of Yorkshire beaches have been named among the top 10 ‘hidden’ beaches to visit in the UK this summer.

Filey Beach, Runswick Bay and Whitby made the list, although Botany Bay in Kent was named joint overall winner alongside Cornwall’s Kynance Cove.

But Yorkshire’s beaches dominated the list, taking four of the top ten places.

Betfair Casino, who generated the list, said it was “no surprise” that Botany Bay landed the top spot, as it is located on the beautiful Kent coast. The hidden gem that many have on their bucket lists has a lot to offer, with plenty to explore around its dramatic coastline and stunning white cliffs.

Also on top was Kynance Cove, a secluded haven that is located on the eastern side of Mount Bay. Famous for its white sands, clear turquoise waters and red Serpentinite rocks, you “wouldn’t be disappointed” when you visit.
