VW driver caught with giant TV in convertible ‘didn’t want to pay for delivery’

We all want to save a few pennies when we can – but one driver took things too far when he tried to haul a giant TV home in his convertible.

And it was all because the stubborn British driver didn’t want to pay for the delivery, police say – although he insisted he was “sticking to it”. The driver was pulled over by cops after trying to transport a massive 60-inch television in the back of his convertible.




The comical footage shows the enormous flat-screen TV sticking out of the open-top VW as the driver attempted to navigate the M60 on Sunday (May 19). The man, who was stopped on the main ring road around Manchester, explained that he chose to transport his purchase himself because he “didn’t want to pay for delivery”.

His justification that his valuable cargo was safe because he was “holding onto it” while driving left the officers stunned. Greater Manchester Police issued a PG9 notice banning the driver from driving the vehicle and reported it. A representative from the force posted on X: “The driver of this vehicle didn’t want to pay for delivery so he tried to transport his new 60 TV himself” home #M60.

“It appears that there was nothing dangerous about his carried cargo because he ‘kept it.’ Locals who saw the photos of the car were quick to mock the driver on social media. One joked: “It’s like something you’d see on TV.”

Another commented: “He wanted to enjoy his favorite show but a random spoiler did it for him.” Another user added: “He knows his TV is now in safe hands.”
