The suspect bears the name of sexually assaulted students along the canal

A suspect has been named after two schoolgirls were sexually assaulted on a canal path in Sefton.

John Lovell, 59, of Othello Close, Bootle, has been charged with two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration with part of your body and assaulting a girl under 14 by touching .




Merseyside Police charged Lovell on Monday (May 20) with child sexual offenses following the incident, which happened in Sefton on Saturday evening, May 18.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
