Heartbroken family of Coventry dad who died aged 30 to pay special tribute

A good Coventry dad will be fondly remembered at a fun-filled event after his death aged just 30. Callum David Kenneth Hill was said to have taken his own life earlier this year, “leaving the biggest hole in anything. many lives.’

Callum was described as ‘happy and liberated’ and ‘would light up a room’ but faced his own struggles which led to his tragic death on Friday 22nd March. He was remembered for being “the best father, partner, son, brother and uncle.

Now sister Chammaine Hill will be hosting a fun-filled event at Pinley Rugby Club in Wyken Croft on Saturday June 15, just before Father’s Day. Callum will be remembered for being a ‘great’ father to his young son Freddie.

Chammaine said there will be fun-filled sports activities, a bouncy castle and face painting, as well as a barbecue. Guests will also be able to take part in a raffle with some “fantastic” prizes up for grabs, with funds raised going to the city’s charity It Takes Ball to Talk.

Speaking to CoventryLive, Chammaine said: “It’s the first Father’s Day without Callum and as he’s such a great dad to Freddie, it’s just another way to remember him while raising money for It Takes Ball to Talk.”

She continued: “As a family we decided to fundraise for It Takes Ball to Talk, which uses sports themes to encourage people, particularly men, to talk about their feelings. If this charity can raise awareness and encourage just one man to speak up and prevent a family from going through what we have, then we consider it a job well done.”
