Relatives continue the tradition of giving

The Cornwall Kinsmen Club donated $500 to Carefor Hospice at the recent Run for Hospice where the Kinsmen prepared a barbecue for the participants.

Since 1933, the organization has raised funds through a number of activities and invested those funds to meet the community’s greatest needs. These needs change from year to year. The club identified seven broad categories: poverty alleviation; the progress of education; culture and arts; health and well-being; youth enhancement; enhancing public safety and community service.

Each year, a strategic planning process is undertaken to determine the levels of funding that would be allocated to each of these broad categories. All community requests received are reviewed by the club and charitable donations are determined. Groups can still submit applications during the year to be considered; the entry form is available on the club’s website

The Kinsmen Club thanks all the community supporters who make these donations possible – TV Bingo players and merchants, participants in events like the Kinsmen Farmers Market and Pizza Party, and other fundraising events.
