£19 B&Q kit that ‘completely transforms’ rooms and ‘looks professional’

B&Q shoppers say they have ‘completely transformed’ rooms in their home using a £19 paneling kit. Some buyers also claimed that the results “look like a professional completed them”.

Cheshire Mouldings Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) Wall Paneling Kit is priced at £18.97 and contains 6 1.2m (97mmx9mm) MDF strips. One kit covers about 1.2 m², so you can add several kits together to cover the area you want. The MDF strips can be cut to size and are said to be easy to attach to the wall with glue, nails or screws.

The full description says: “Get a more up-to-date look at shaker panels with the MDF Wall Kit. Slightly thicker MDF strips make a bold statement on any wall. MDF is a strong and stable material when sealed and can stay inside. for years. Its smooth surfaces are easy to paint in the desired color.”

The set has an overall rating of 4.9 stars out of five, with over 60 positive reviews. Among them, one person said: “Easy and looks professional. I did this for my nursery on a wall, quite easy to cut and stick to the wall, professional finish, very impressed!”

A second wrote: “I bought this product and used it in every room of my house. It’s easy to use and cheap. Don’t hesitate, buy it.”

A third satisfied buyer added: “Bought this kit (x3) for my son’s bedroom to create a feature wall. It was my first time trying something like this and it turned out much better than I expected. However, one buyer said it was “hard to gauge how much you need”. They added: “I brought 3 packs for a 3 meter wall but only used two packs! Good transformation for a room.”
