A secondary school was evacuated after a threat was made, police said.

All pupils at Myton School in Warwick were out of the building and safe, Warwickshire Force said.

Staff received a “vague threat via email,” according to the school.

At around 16:45 BST, it said all students were now safe and with their families, and police remained at the scene.

He added: “Thank you again for your assistance today in getting all of our students out of school safely.”

Earlier, police said: “We are asking parents to stay away from the school and allow the emergency services to respond.”

People were also asked to avoid the area around the school in Myton Road, which police said was closed due to the incident.

The school advised parents to check social media for updates or for more information about the school mail system.

In a post, it said staff had received a “vague email threat” and that its first priority was the safety of students and staff.
