Premier League boss gives update on Man City 115 FFP allegations hearing amid Liverpool wait

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters gave the latest hearings for Manchester City regarding the 115 allegations by the Premier League.

The club made history on Sunday afternoon by lifting the league title for the fourth consecutive year after a 3-1 win over West Ham United on the final day. Liverpool were one of the challenging teams before a slip saw them fall behind their nearest rivals Arsenal.

The latest headline comes with accusations looming over the city. They are alleged to have breached the Premier League’s financial rules 115 times and could face some major penalties if found guilty.

Other clubs, such as Everton and Nottingham Forest, have already been found guilty of infringements of their own and received points deductions this season. Newly promoted Leicester City will also be heard after being charged earlier this year.

But the complex nature of the Man City case means it has taken much longer than the others. However, Masters has now confirmed that a hearing date has been set.

“All I have said is that a date has been set for the hearing,” he told the Times. “I didn’t say when that happens. Our regulations require that these committees be held in private and that everything be confidential.”
