The Greggs fish finger sandwich is launching this week – but there’s a catch

Greggs has announced that the latest addition to its menu will be dropped later this week. A fish finger sandwich and wrap will be available in stores from Thursday, May 23 – but there’s a catch.

The lightly battered cod fillet dressed with iceberg lettuce in a soft roll will cost £3.90 and comes with a choice of ketchup or mayo. A wrap version will also be available, priced at £3.70, swapping the lettuce for mixed leaves, cucumber and a dollop of mayo.

Fans were delighted when Greggs teased the news earlier, with some saying it was a “dream come true”. However, many will be disappointed as it will only be available in select stores in the Northeast.

Greggs will trial the new additions in 10 stores – including Newcastle and Sunderland – and add them to the menu in a further 10 stores across the region in June. A potential national rollout could happen in a few months.
