Manchester City interested in signing this Newcastle United striker: a good move?

Anthony Gordon joined Newcastle United in the winter of 2023 after spending his entire life at Everton. The signing proved fruitful for both parties involved. While the player has unleashed a new version of himself, the team has benefited from his displays on the pitch.

Gordan has been in excellent form this campaign and has emerged as a talent to watch out for. He scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 games this season. He averages 2 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

The English player is a versatile attacker who can play in several places. He is a decisive player in the final third as he can create threats with his passing and clinical finishing skills. However, the youngster still has a lot of room for improvement.

Manchester City are looking to add new attackers amid the possible exits of several stars. While Kevin de Bruyne has been linked with a move to Saudia for months, reports have emerged recently that Jack Grealish is also keen to leave the club at the end of the season.

If that happens, the Citizens will need to go for quality players and Anthony Gordon will certainly come into the fold. The addition of the 23-year-old will add value and flexibility to the star-studded squad. It can also be a long-term investment.

From Gordan’s point of view, he will be able to fight for prestigious trophies while also learning under Pep Guardiola. However, the transfer will depend on the two Premier League clubs. Apart from City, Liverpool are keen to sign the player.
