Two people in hospital after multi-vehicle crash in Wadebridge

Two people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash near Wadebridge. A collision has left the A39 closed in both directions between the junction of Hals’ Grave and Halfway House Inn.

Police and firefighters are on the scene. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said two drivers were taken to Derriford Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Wadebridge Community Fire Station, part of Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, has urged motorists to avoid the area. Long delays have been reported while emergency services are in the area.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at around 10.55am on Wednesday 10 April to reports of a multi-vehicle road traffic collision on the A39 at St Breock, near Wadebridge.

“The fire and ambulance services were also called. The road is currently blocked in both directions. Two drivers were taken to Derriford Hospital. They are not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.”

Inrix traffic monitor reports: “A39 closed in both directions, traffic backed up due to multi-vehicle accident between Hals’ Grave Junction and The Halfway House Inn. Congestion to routes through St Issey as traffic clears”.
