Borussia Dortmund boss confirms Jadon Sancho transfer plan amid Manchester United decision

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed that talks will take place with Manchester United over the possibility of re-signing Jadon Sancho after the summer.

Sancho joined the Bundesliga giants on loan in January after falling out of favor under Erik ten Hag. The striker managed just three appearances for United before being dropped from the squad.

In January, he returned to Dortmund after leaving them in 2021 and rediscovered his early career form. Despite scoring just three goals in 17 games, the England international has been instrumental in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League semi-finals.

Last week, Sancho received rave reviews for his performance against Paris Saint-Germain. His performances in Germany have led to further question marks over his future at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag have remained tight-lipped about Sancho’s chances of reviving his Manchester career, but Kehl has revealed a little more detail about the potential for him to stay at Dortmund for the 2024/25 season.

Asked about his feelings about the club signing Sancho and Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen on permanent deals on TNT Sport, he said: “We’ll see. They are both on loan, but in the end we have to make any decision.
