Padel comes to Southall – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 cities

Padel, one of the fastest growing sports, now has its own courts in Southall.

Property developer Berkeley Group has become the first major developer to introduce padel facilities in a residential scheme in The Green Quarter.

The racquet sport, played in doubles, originated in Mexico in 1969 and now has more than 25 million people playing in 90 countries.

The facility is run by British padel operator Game4Padel and the Parkside Padel Club is part of the community hub that has been created for The Green Quarter.

Charlotte Berrington, Berkeley Sales and Marketing Director said: “Berkeley is passionate about creating successful places where communities thrive and people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy an excellent quality of life. The padel courts are a fantastic addition to the range of public facilities already available at The Green Quarter and a perfect showcase for what we want to offer and achieve here.”

Ms Berrington added: “We are creating a new place which, above all else, prioritizes the wellbeing of its residents and the local community. I can’t think of a better way to encourage people to get outside, meet each other and support their physical and mental health through exercise.”
