Leeds United right-back Connor Roberts has been confirmed to return to Burnley once his loan spell ends after the play-off final.

Daniel Farke is preparing his side for Sunday’s play-off final against Southampton, a team they have beaten twice.

Should Leeds seal their return to the Premier League, transfers could be closely watched to give the German a better chance of securing top-flight safety for the Whites.

Connor Roberts has confirmed he is returning to Burnley

In the build-up to the play-off final, following the Premier League season ending this past weekend, shortlists are emerging.

Included in that is Burnley as they share confirmation that Connor Roberts’ loan at Elland Road will soon end and will see him return to Turf Moor for pre-season.

Roberts’ time at Leeds will come to an end after the play-off final as he currently makes 14 appearances for the club with one goal and one assist.

Leeds transfer target Charlie Taylor has offered a contract extension

There is also an update on Charlie Taylor, the Leeds academy left-back who was heading for the end of his contract this season.

The Clarets have confirmed the 30-year-old has been offered a contract extension, having been of interest to Leeds in the summer following relegation.

Roberts could have solid depth if he’s available on the cheap

It’s pretty obvious that we’ll need at least one or two right-backs in the summer if we’re going to get promoted, so signing Roberts permanently wouldn’t be a bad move.

He didn’t get much of a chance to show his quality for us with Archie Gray hitting at right-back and then injury struck, but he was still a good option for us.

With a pre-season behind him, you’d back him to be more than reliable in the top flight, but that remains to be seen.
