Coronation Street’s Abi Webster’s powerful plea as killer Corey attracts media attention

Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) made a powerful plea in tonight’s emotional edition of Coronation Street (20 May 2024) when criminal Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) came back into her life.

Corey killed Abi’s beloved son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) in 2021 and was eventually sent away for the murder. But in the latest installment of the ITV soap, Abi was horrified to find Corey was the subject of a documentary hailing him as a football hero behind bars!

Furious that husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) knew but didn’t warn her, Abi broke the news to the late Seb’s girlfriend, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), who was also attacked and left for dead when Seb was killed in the a hate crime. .

Nina and Abi rushed to pay the TV producer responsible for the documentary a visit, where Abi explained exactly what Corey had done and demanded that he quit the show. The woman refused, and when Abi spoke, the producer threatened to call the police.

Abi and Nina returned to the pavement and police officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) appeared to tell Abi to back off as there was a complaint about her.

It seemed that no one else was willing to put Seb’s memory above Corey; but when Gazette writer Suki Waters (Laura Littlewood) stepped in with an interview offer, Abi asked her if she could film it instead and post an unedited version online, hoping to dissuade people from watching Corey’s show.

In emotional scenes, Abi spoke warmly of the amazing young man Seb had been before his life was cut short. She then described how he was kicked by Corey, who was now being praised on TV.

Abi urged viewers to think of Seb if they choose to watch the documentary and Suki kept her word as it was authentically published for all to see.

But Abi knew this battle was far from over. Will her words have any effect on the television company?
