Jurgen Klopp admits he actually broke the trophy during the celebrations at Liverpool – and never told anyone

Jurgen Klopp has revealed he actually broke one of the trophies he won as Liverpool manager over the festive period.

The German oversaw his final game in charge of the Reds on Sunday after nine years at Anfield as his side ended the season with a 2-0 win over Wolves. During his reign, Klopp won eight trophies as he most memorably led Liverpool to their first Premier League title and sixth European Cup.




He was also in charge as the Reds were crowned world champions for the first time in the club’s history, Roberto Firmino’s extra-time winner securing a 1-0 win over Flamengo.

And the outgoing Liverpool manager has now admitted for the first time that he actually broke the FIFA Club World Cup trophy over the holidays, although he revealed he got away without anyone knowing he was responsible.

“Little side story, this trophy, we broke it during the holidays,” he told his backroom team, pointing to a photo of them celebrating the FIFA Club World Cup as he watched a video montage of their time together for the “The Last debrief” of the club. video.

“I think I had it like that, and crack. “Oh…” – he whistled – and I gave it to someone else. I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone that.
