Manchester United ‘will make’ £65m bid for Crystal Palace ace as club drop transfer request

Manchester United are believed to be considering a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as they look for new centre-backs.

United are looking for two centre-backs this summer, with Raphael Varane set to leave after the FA Cup final and Jonny Evans out of contract next month. The club is expected to look for younger talent to balance the age of the defence.

Both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will be north of 30 by the start of next season, while Willy Kambwala doesn’t turn 20 until August. Lisandro Martinez dissects the age range at 26 years old.

Guehi, 23, is set for a bright future and has been selected for England’s provisional training squad ahead of this summer’s European Championships. The Daily Mail say United are admirers of the defender, who is valued at £65million.

United, he adds, are considering the possibility of eventually approaching Palace for his signature. Meanwhile, the club have identified Everton talent Jarrad Branthwaite, 21, and Bayer Leverkusen’s invincible Edmond Tapsoba, 25, as targets of interest.

The report claims United are also interested in Guehi’s Palace team-mate Michael Olise, as well as RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko and Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who becomes a free agent this summer.
