The MLT Roundup is back, artists in tow

Bayleys Tussock Country Festival features a fantastic night of free entertainment courtesy of the Mataura Licensing Trust and the NZ Gold Guitar Awards.

The MLT briefing will take place on May 31.

Event organizer Kayla Martin said there were a variety of artists lined up for the evening and the hardest part was deciding what to watch.

“Our strategy tip: hop around locations and try to see a little bit of everything.

“Country fan or not, you’re sure to have a great night.”

She was delighted that MLT had once again come on board to provide a range of entertainment for music fans.

“To kick off the MLT Music Roundup, head to Howl at the Moon for Piano at the Moon, where we have talented local pianist Brendon Burgess playing from 5 p.m.

“Brendon on your toes while enjoying the familiar atmosphere.”

Christchurch singer Miranda Easten will perform with her band at the Roundup Country Gig at Thomas Green Public House and Dining Room at 7.30pm.

Easten has a fresh country sound and is releasing an album this year, Ms. Martin said.

“She’s also a presenter for the new Southern Cross Country radio station, which is making waves across the country.”

It will be Easten’s first time at the festival.

At Croydon Lodge, Country at Croydon will feature last year’s MLT New Zealand Gold Guitar senior overall winner, Zac Griffith.

“Zac will put on a country show with his top band and you’ll be treated to a truly exceptional young performer.”

Griffith is due to release his first single this year.

Before Griffith’s performance, singer-songwriter Lana Doublet and Phil Doublet will perform at The Blazing Copper restaurant in Croydon Lodge.

“Make sure you book your table and hear The Doublets at their ‘Acoustic Blaze’ gig.”

“Their warm and captivating voices and stories will leave you wanting more.”

Country artist Steffany Beck will perform before karaoke at Traffers Bar from 9.15pm.

“Steffany brings a fresh new sound to New Zealand country music with her songs.”

She just released her single “What Would Dolly Do”.

Mataura Falls has entertainers Cheryl Anderson and Dene Allen performing at 8:30 p.m.

“Cheryl has a powerful voice and Dene adds a fabulous atmosphere with his musical talent to this duo.”
