A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

Merseyside Police were called to Lorenzo Drive, opposite the junction with Wandsworth Road, in Norris Green at around 1.40pm on Saturday 18 May. This was followed by reports of a crash involving two cars, a blue Toyota Aygo and a blue Ford Mondeo, and a pedestrian. .




The pedestrian, a 60-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital. A 40-year-old woman, from Norris Green, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and drink driving. She was released under investigation.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and any CCTV footage, doorbells and dash cams that may have captured the incident.

Inspector Emma Haffenden of the Roads Police said: “We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this collision and are appealing to anyone who witnessed any part of it to contact us and help.

“We are aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it and we are asking you to contact us to assist with the investigation. We are also appealing for anyone with any CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
