River Island’s “flattering” “designer style” dress, perfect for a beach club

River Island shoppers love a dress they spotted on TV presenter Frankie Bridge. The former The Saturdays singer shared a photo this week wearing the “designer style” dress.

Every week, Frankie shares her fashion “favorites” on her Instagram stories, and this week they included the River Island Pink Knit Stripe Bodycon Maxi Dress. The dress is priced at £50 and features chevron fabric, a striped pattern, a scoop neckline and a tie fastening.

Frankie described the dress as “flattering” and said it looked like designer brand Missoni – but for a lot less. She also teamed the dress with metallic gold earrings, sandals and a crossbody bag.

In her Instagram Story, Frankie shared a photo and said: “We all need a flattering print dress in our holiday box! This reminds me of the Missoni style, so you get a designer piece for a lot less! It has a good amount of stretch and falls nicely over the body.

“If you wanted, you could get away with wearing a strapless bra under it too. I paired it with metallics so it could go from day to night at a beach club?”

Alternatively, Marks and Spencer sells the rich linen round neck midi dress for £39.50, while H&M has the satin slip dress for £24.99. ASOS also have the SANDYS satin maxi dress in sage green on sale for £34.45, down from £53. Nobody’s Child also offers the Trixie Blush Pink Satin Midaxi Bridesmaid Dress for £79.

New Look is also selling the Pale Blue Square Neck Midi Dress, which is priced at £33.99 and is also available in black, navy, white, rust and khaki. The dress has a 4/5 star rating with a number of positive reviews online.

Among them, one person said: “Really comfortable and flattering. Loved the navy as it looks nice for summer.” A second wrote: “I love this dress with the square neck and stretchy body and it just fits. I also love the short puffy sleeves, they fit perfectly, lovely.”

A third buyer added: “Love this! Fabulous fit and very flattering.” Another said: “Lovely comfortable dress – great fit.”

However, not all shoppers were so impressed with the dress. One person wrote: “Good material and not too thick, the seam just didn’t sit right on my figure.” Another said: “This is a cute dress and a nice color, but it was too long for me (I’m 5’3″). I felt confused about it, so I returned it.”
