Chelsea get Enzo Maresca’s response as shock decision made

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca is on the list of managers being considered to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

The timing of Tuesday’s decision to part ways with the Argentine came as a surprise given Chelsea’s encouraging end to the Premier League season. His young side finished outside the top four, but Pochettino looked to have finally got his squad of men playing as a team after a disappointing start to the campaign.

But Chelsea have a reputation for changing managers, and they are now looking for a sixth man to lead their team in just over two years. One of the names immediately linked with the Stamford Bridge job is the title-winning Foxes boss, who won promotion to the Premier League in his first season at the King Power Stadium.

Not only is the speculation disruptive as Leicester plot their return to the sea, it also raises a serious question as to what City would do if they were indeed approached for the Italian’s services.

On the one hand, some supporters may believe that Maresca is too valuable to the club to even consider letting him go, but he was proven wrong by many critics from the stands during the Foxes’ march to promotion.
