Singapore Airlines passengers text loved ones ‘last words’ moments before horror flight lands

A terrified passenger on the horrific Singapore Airlines flight sent what he feared were his last words to his family as the Boeing jet plummeted 6,000ft amid deadly turbulence.

Josh Barker sent a message to loved ones, including Allison’s mum, with a message saying: ‘I don’t want to scare you but I’m on a crazy flight. The plane makes an emergency landing… I love you all. .”

Allison recounted the agonizing wait for news, but when she finally reached her son, Josh reassured her of his safety. He exited the plane with minor injuries, while a Briton, grandfather Geoffrey Ralph Kitchen, 73, tragically suffered a fatal heart attack during the chaos.

Speaking to the BBC, Allison said: “It was terrifying. I did not know what was happening. I didn’t know if (Josh) survived, it was so upsetting. It was the longest two hours of my life.”

Flight SQ321, which had 211 passengers and 18 crew on board, including 47 Britons, took off from London Heathrow just after 10pm on Monday. About 11 hours into the 13-hour journey to Singapore, while passengers were eating breakfast, the plane encountered “severe turbulence” that took everyone by surprise, according to officials, the Mirror reports.

The aircraft was forced to divert to Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, where it made an emergency landing shortly before 16:00 local time. At the airport, a fleet of 13 ambulances rushed to the scene, with images showing emergency vehicles lined up on the tarmac.

Dozens of passengers were rushed to hospital, but those fit enough were able to continue their journey to Singapore’s Changi Airport last night. Photos taken at the scene capture the emotional moment tourists were reunited with their loved ones after the terrifying ordeal.
