3 right-backs Leeds United must look amid interest from rival Marius Wolf

Leeds United are said to be showing interest in Borussia Dortmund’s outgoing Marius Wolf ahead of the summer transfer window.

Leeds United will need a new right-back regardless of the division they are in next season and one name rumored to be on the radar is Marius Wolf. He will leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Reports in Germany said the Whites are keen on the 28-year-old as a target should they win promotion. However, there is rival interest from Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia.

Rival interest and promotion uncertainty mean the Elland Road outfit would be wise to keep their options open with a number of targets in mind.

That said, here are three more right-backs Leeds United would be wise to consider…

Jayden Bogle – Sheffield United

Bogle is out of contract at Sheffield United this summer and while it remains to be seen whether he stays or leaves, it would not be a surprise if the 23-year-old had options to stay in the Premier League.

That said, though, you have to feel he could be a viable signing for Leeds United regardless.

The former Derby County man could be a real star at Championship level, but would also be a permanent signing if the Whites win promotion. Bogle is already a solid option at fullback or fullback, but has plenty of time to develop even more.

Ben Johnson – West Ham

West Ham man Johnson has been linked with Leeds United before and again, regardless of how the promotion pans out, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the rumors resurface once more.

He has played plenty of top-flight football with the Hammers, but looks primed and ready for a fresh start away from the East London outfit with his contract soon to expire.

Johnson will likely have plenty of suitors, but Leeds would be wise to be among them. His ability to play anywhere in the back three could make him a valuable asset for Daniel Farke.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Reuel Walters – Arsenal

Last but not least, it’s a gamble, but 19-year-old Walters could be set to take an enticing break from senior football sooner rather than later as he prepares to leave Arsenal.

He’s a highly-rated young defender but seems to be eyeing first-team chances away from the Gunners, so he’ll be moving on when his contract expires.

His situation will pique the interests of many clubs, but given their eye for a promising player, Leeds United could be a great place for him to start in their search for a right-back this summer.
