Vehicle stolen following suspected car theft in Birmingham with two men arrested

A driver has been ‘dragged out of his car’ in an alleged carjacking in Birmingham. A driver was said to have been approached on Parkfield Road in Alum Rock, off the main Alum Road, at around 4.40pm on Tuesday 21 May.

The driver was said to have been “dragged” from their vehicle. A 20-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were spotted in the car nearby, police said.



Both were questioned on suspicion of robbery. One was also being questioned on suspicion of possession of class B drugs.

West Midlands Police said: “Two men have been arrested for stealing a motor vehicle in Birmingham. The two men, aged 20 and 29, were arrested on Tuesday, May 21, after a car was stolen in Parkfield Road in Alum Rock.

“Officers attended the scene and two men were found in the stolen car nearby. The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of Class B drugs.

“The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft. Both remain in police custody. We take all forms of vehicle crime seriously and it is a priority to tackle this incredibly disturbing crime.”
