Liverpool transfer news roundup – Kylian Mbappe claim, Anthony Gordon shock move, Pep Lijnders raid

The Athletic reported that Darwin Nunez was one of the last revelers standing after Liverpool’s end-of-season event. Jurgen Klopp was among the key numbers to say goodbye on a farewell night for the German and his coaching staff, as well as Thiago and Joel Matip.

The Uruguayan has been a target of criticism for most of the season due to his difficulties in scoring. Nunez has missed some big chances throughout the campaign, though he hasn’t been alone, and caused a social media storm when he reportedly deleted all his Liverpool-related Instagram content.

He will launch for Copa America glory with Uruguay this summer as Marcelo Bielsa looks to develop his goalscoring capabilities.

Nunez revealed that the comments on social media used to affect him, but now he has made the decision to avoid the platforms and focus on supporting his family.

“From the moment you start playing until you retire, there will always be someone who will criticize you,” he told Uruguayan TV channel Canal 10, via ESPN Uruguay.

“I avoid reading those comments; before, I looked at them a lot and it affected me. Whoever says that those negative comments don’t affect their mind, those negative comments that are directed at you will always affect you.

“I ignore these comments because they are of no use to me. I never look at negative comments on social media, at least now I don’t look at anything, not even the good stuff.”
